NOW ACCEPTING NEW STUDENTS

Training:
1st hour of class consist of endurance and strength training utilizing kickboxing and martial art skills. 2nd hour consist of instruction in Kajukenbo self defense techniques.

After developing a solid foundation of basic strikes and kicks students move through a series of defenses against punches, grabs and club attacks. All of these techniques involve strikes, joint locks, kicks and pressure point targeting. Kajukenbo is a street fighting based art form that is for contemporary application.

The training atmosphere is a safe supportive space with respectful men and women who are all dedicated to the study of Kajukenbo.

Classes are held at Melas Martial Arts studio housed in the INFERNO Studios located at 4401 San Leandro street.

Melas Martial Arts: KAJUKENBO

Welcome to Melas Martial Arts KAJUKENBO.

MMA is a small school, headed by Sifu Nick Melas, that focuses on private instruction of Kajukenbo.

In addition to our study we are also holding classes for women and men in street defense skills. These classes are specially developed by Sifu Nick in order to give women and men with no martial art skills the ability to confidently and quickly defend themselves utilizing proven techniques from the martial art of Kajukenbo.

We are located in INFERNO Co which also houses the art studio of Gary-Paul Prince and the INFERNO Gallery in East Oakland, CA.
